We are constantly bombarded in the media with nutritional information; much of it either too basic to do much good, or too unique and unlikely to benefit any but a small number of individuals.
Yet, a national telephone survey conducted by the Pew Research Center's Internet and American Life Project finds that 69% of U.S. adults keep track of at least one health indicator such as weight, diet, exercise routine, or symptom. Moreover, people living with chronic conditions are significantly more likely to track a health indicator or symptom.*
That's where we come in. We're the Human Individuality Project (or HIP), a research group associated with the Center of Excellence in Generative Medicine at the University of Bridgeport. Our goal is to study the effects of certain types of diets that are based on simple genetic markers, such as blood groups.
We study dietary trends and results that are specific to the person. That's our job. When you join the HIP Project, all you'll have to do is use TRAKTION, our unique lifestyle tracking program on a regular basis. TRAKTION is easy and intuitive to use, runs from any internet browser, and you'll have the extra reward and incentive of using TRAKTION's awesome Dashboard, which provides you with direct feedback on just how well you are doing on your diet.
TRAKTION was conceived and programmed by Dr. Peter D'Adamo, Distinguished Professor at the University of Bridgeport, author of the New York Times Bestseller Eat Right For Your Type, and the principal investigator of the study.
So, what do you get out of it?
A way to track their BTD compliance level alongside other factors such as exercise, and correlate this with their wellbeing. Users may be able to work out factors that affect their personal state of health such as specific foods or exercise levels that might make them feel better or worse.
And what do we get out of it?
A way to see aggregated anonymized data from large numbers of people and their compliance levels to the BTD on a custom-designed tracking system which takes the latest BTD food values into account.
Participation in HIP and use of TRAKTION is free. No strings attached. You and your data are and remain private and completely anonymous. Even to us.
