L-Lactic acid

L-Lactic acid plays a role in several biochemical processes and is produced in the muscles during intense activity. It can be produced naturally as well as synthetically and if found mostly in sour milk products, such as yogurt, cottage cheese, and kombucha. Blood tests for lactate are performed to determine the status of the acid base homeostasis in the body.
