3-Fucosyllactose

3-Fucosyllactose is a milk oligosaccharide first isolated from the urine of a blood group O, nonsecretor woman during pregnancy and lactation. It is resistant to enzyme hydrolysis in the gastrointestinal tract of the infant, therefore, reaches the large intestine where it serves as substrates for bacterial metabolism. 3-Fucosyllactose is found in human milk.
