L-Phenylalanine


L-Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid and is a precursor for L-tyrosine, monoamine neurotransmitters (Dopamine, Norepinephrine and Epinephrine) and melanin. Supplemental L-phenylalanine is commonly used in depression and as an analgesic. High amounts of L-phenylalanine are found in soy, eggs, red meat and fish.
