Benzidine


Benzidine is an organic compound and aromatic amine with a crystalline (sandy or sugar-like) solid structure that may be grayish-yellow, white, or reddish-gray. It is a manufactured chemical that does not occur naturally. In the past, industry used large amounts of benzidine to produce dyes for cloth, paper, and leather. Benzidine has been linked to bladder and pancreatic cancer.
