Aluminium

Aluminium is the third most abundant element in the Earth's crust (after oxygen and silicon) and its most abundant metal. Aluminium is the most widely used non-ferrous metal. Despite its widespread occurrence in the Earth crust, aluminium has no known function in biology. In very high doses, aluminium is associated with altered function of the blood–brain barrier. A small percentage of people are allergic to aluminium and experience contact dermatitis, digestive disorders, vomiting, and/or other symptoms. It may play a role in the development of Alzheimer's disease.
