High processed foods diet

A high processed food diet contains foods that are far from their natural state, that have undergone various forms of processing including, but not limited to, grinding, milling, macerating, liquefaction, emulsification, cooking, pickling, pasteurization, and many other kinds of preservation. Depending on the degree of processing, these foods may be high in macronutrients including carbohydrates, fat, and protein and low in micronutrients and fiber. Vitamins and minerals are commonly added to processed foods, such as breakfast cereals, to fortify them.
