Plant-rich diet

A plant rich diet contains abundant vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and fruits and limits foods coming from animals, including meat, dairy, and eggs. A plant based diet may reduce the risk of coronary artery disease and assist in weight loss. Evidence supports health benefits from eating fruits and vegetables in reducing the risk for high blood pressure, stroke, and colorectal cancer. Plant-based diets are cost-effective, low-risk interventions that may lower body mass index, blood pressure, HbA1c, and cholesterol levels.
