Bacteroides ovatus as the Predominant Commensal Intestinal Microbe Causing a Systemic Antibody Response in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. 'Our results therefore suggest that B. ovatus is so highly antigenic that it surpasses the anti-inflammatory regulation exerted by an IgA response and thus can cause an inflammatory IgG response too. On the other hand, B. vulgatus does not appear to be sufficiently pathogenic to induce an IgG response in addition to an IgA response.'
