L-Ornithine

L-Ornithine is a non-proteinogenic amino acid that is a critical component of the urea cycle, which allows the body to dispose of nitrogen. L-Ornithine can be used in conditions characterized by high ammonia levels, such as hepatic encephalopathy, liver cirrhosis and prolonged cardiovascular exercise.
