D-MannoseD-Mannose is an aldohexose sugar monomer. It is not an essential nutrient and can be produced in the body from glucose. Several studies have shown that D-mannose is useful in preventing and treating urinary tract infections. It acheives this effect by interfering with E.coli's ability to adhere to the urethral epithelium.
