Riboflavin

Riboflavin is also known as vitamin B2. It is the central component of the cofactors FAD and FMN, involved in many cellular reactions including energy production reactions, and is involved in the activation of other vitamins. It is a yellow-orange solid substance that imparts color to vitamin supplements and is sometimes responsible for the bright yellow color of the urine in persons taking a lot of it. Food and beverages that provide riboflavin without fortification are milk, cheese, eggs, leafy vegetables, liver, kidneys, legumes, mushrooms, and almonds.
