OVERVIEW:

Ruminococcaceae are one of the most abundant families from the order Clostridiales found in the mammalian gut environment, and have been associated with the maintenance of gut health. They are anaerobic, Gram-positive gut microbes. One or more species in this genus are found in significant numbers in the intestines of humans. Arterial stiffness was found to correlate negatively with the abundance of Ruminococcaceae family bacteria.
