Bifidobacterium pseudocatenulatum (GenBank Accession Number for 16S rDNA gene: M84785) is a member of the Actinobacteria division of the domain bacteria and has been isolated from human feces. B. pseudocatenulatum CECT 7765 reduced obesity-associated systemic inflammation by restoring the balance between regulatory T cells (Tregs) and B lymphocytes and reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines of adaptive (IL-17A) and innate (TNF-α) immunity and endotoxemia. [PMID: 26161548] Oral administration of B. pseudocatenulatum CECT7765 is associated with improved gut barrier integrity and shows a beneficial effect against induced bacterial antigen translocation in the CCl4 -model of cirrhosis.
