Genomic curation

See also: Curation

The Genomic Curator is one of the five ways that you control how information is funneled to the client report.

The Genomic Dataset Screen

Like the Algorithm Curator and Protocol Curator, the Genomic Curator allows you to create and save multiple versions of saved selections. These are known as 'datasets.' Datasets can be designed to encapsule certain types of data --such as a dataset titled 'Detox' which might include only detoxification related genes, or simply datasets that reflect different priorities from visit to visit. Normally Opus 23 Pro will create a default genomic dataset titled 'Dataset #1' for the client when you initially upload their data.

You can add new datasets to the client's collection by clicking the 'Create New Dataset' link. To edit the name of the dataset, or to change which dataset is the default (the dataset that will be sent on to the client report), click the 'Edit' link To select a dataset to load into the Genomic Curator app, click its title. This will launch the Genomic Curator and load that dataset's selections.

The Genomic Curator app lists the most significant nutrigenomic genes by category. If you are working in the active dataset, you'll see an icon that says "Current Report Dataset.' When it completes loading, all genes will be displayed. However you can choose to limit selection to a single genomic group by using the the pull-down menu. Click on the gene checkbox to add or subtract it from the client report queue. Click on any part of the graph to trigger an information popup about that gene. Click on the talk bubble to append a comment or add quick entry tag for intergation into gene descriptive text. Any text you enter here will be added to the descriptive text for that gene in the client report.

Adding Genes to the Genomic Curator via Pop-Up

You can add genes to the genomic curator 'on the fly' from any gene information pop-up window. In the window, a symbol next to the gene name will either say 'ADD UNCURATED' or "CURATED", depending on whether the gene has been added to the active curation dataset (i.e the set of genes that will be sent on to the client report.) Click on the appropriate icon to add or delete the gene from the current curation dataset. This feature is helpful because it allows you to add genes to curation that are not included in the curator's basic gene set.

Adding Genes to the Current Protocol

You can add genes to the current protocol 'on the fly' from any gene information pop-up window. In the window, a symbol next to the gene name will either say 'IN PROTOCOL' or "ADD PROTOCOL", depending on whether the gene has been added to the active protocol dataset. Genes added to a protocol are classed as 'Molecular Targets.'
