MAPPER Power Analysis mode

When you first load a map into MAPPER you start in 'Global Analysis' mode. Clicking the 'Power Analysis' link at the top of the map changes the display to Power Analysis mode, reflecting a semi-quantification of how much 'function' one might expect from the gene, given the status of its SNPs and upstream substrates.

As with Global Analysis, genes without SNP representation in Opus 23 Pro are colored gray. Active genes with Opus 23 Pro data are shaded blue, the depth of the blue color indicating the total number of SNPs in the gene for which Opus 23 Pro has data. Again, using the battery status analogy, gene function is represented by how much of a 'charge' is in the gene, from left to right. Hovering over the gene will tell you the number of SNPs and a quantitative estimate of gene functionality.

MAPPER gene functionality numbers are 'guesstimates' at best, since it is impossible to account for all factors contribution to the activity level of a gene. However, these numbers can be helpful in a broad sense.

MAPPER results will display in the Chart Report if the 'Include Functional Analysis' is set to 'on' in the Report Options Screen (this is the default). MAPPER elements display in the Chart Report under 'Functional Networks'. You can also select maps in the Chart Report for inclusion in the Client Report.
